10 Things I Hate About You?

Here are 10 similarities between the Taming of the Shrew and (10 Things I Hate About You)::
1. Lucentio (Cameron) likes Bianca.
2. Bianca's father will not allow anyone to date her until her older sister gets married (or goes on a date).
3. Katherine is a shrew, while Katherina is Bianca's older shrew-ish sister.
4. Lucentino tutors Bianca in Latin (or French).
5. Petruccio (Patrick) agrees to marry (date) Katherine (Kat).
6. Petruccio (Patrick) tries to loosen up Katherine (Kat).
7. Bianca likes Lucentio (Cameron).
8. Katherine (Katherina) becomes tamed and nicer.
9. Lucentio (Cameron) and Hortensio (Joey) fight to win Bianca.
10. Petruccio (Patrick) and Katherine (Katherina) along with Lucentio (Cameron) and Bianca end up together.

Ooo Brother.

In class, we have been watching O Brother, Where Art Thou? I remember watching this a long time ago and being bored out of my mind. But watching it in class I think I liked it more than I did before. I like how it is based on The Odyssey and how they made the events similar. Things like the cow getting run over and the frog being squished was pretty gross, but otherwise I enjoyed it. There were a few parts where it was becoming slow, and then something exciting happened. I also thought it was really entertaining hearing George Clooney sing. Haha.

Life is like a roller coaster where you are going up, with sudden twists and turns, possibly throwing up along the way, then immediately going down not knowing what to expect next..

Of Mice and Men: Project Checkpoint.

In class, we are starting our project for the unit of reading Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. We have a choice of either creating a Power Point slideshow, or a movie trailer. I do not like Power Points and I like to make random videos with my friends at home anyway, so I thought filming a trailer would be really fun. My group will include Ellie and Christina and me, obviously. I'm not gonna lie, that's probably one of the only two things we definitely know about this project. We've also decided who's going to play which character. Ellie doesn't really want to act, but she wants to direct, and we're thinking of her playing some of the workers on the farm anyway such as Candy, Crooks, Carlson, Curley, and Curley's wife. Christina is going to play George, and I guess I'll play Lennie.

Even though our group hasn't discussed much, I have some ideas for the trailer. Scenes I think we should include are George and Lennie walking down to their new job from Weed, and discussing how Lennie shouldn't talk unless authorized by George. I also think we should include them meeting some of the other characters, showing some foreshadowing so viewers may have an idea of what will come when they go see the "actual movie". I am a little worried that we haven't talked too much about filming, and hopefully we can get it done next week before the time we post it. My schedule is a little hectic after school, especially on Monday and Wednesday... and Thursday. So this is one of my concerns, other than uploading the video. I have had some trouble in the past uploading projects like this, and I wouldn't want to see it fail and be disappointed. But I think it will turn out great! These are just some common problems..
